A digital portfolio can get you 10 steps ahead of the competition because most people don't take the time to think about something like that or don't have the knowledge to create one so they just try with a simple resume. When they see how creative you are by presenting a digital portfolio they think that you could be just as creative and useful for their company and want you over someone else.
I see my Digital Portfolio as like an extension to my business card. Since it has so much info on me, it can give potential companies insight as to if I am right for them or not. Or a potential customer looking to hire a photographer. Maybe even someone browsing the web looking for prints for their house to hang on the wall. Lastly I can send friends and family there to see what I am all about. It like my little piece of cyber-space in the world wide web in the wires and air. . .
yOU Can use this for the future because you can up date change things ,this is good for examply your resume because you can update it an there is a location for your resume that would be hard to loose. This will revolution the future.
Because it's more than paper and words; it's words, pictures, graphics, and video all working together for something more than just plain black and white visuals. This will show the employer that at least you are dedicated enough or want the job more than anyone else by taking the time and effort to put a digital portfolio together. This also shows the employer you do at least have some knowledge of the computer.
i think a digital portfolio is a great tool to market yourself. you can be more creative and visualistic. it is more eye catching than words on a resume paper. it defines you more as an individual and potential employee. hopefully, prospective employers will catch that.
I had never really thought about a digital portfolio until this class. I can see myself continuing to use my portfolio as a tool to help my career. I will probably add new stuff to it, and change things around in it as time goes on. I can definitely see the advantages of having a digital portfolio.
A digital portfolio will replace the usual resume in the near future. This will be extremely helpful to my career, since I am going into the technology field. I will have a leg up on the competition since I have one to work with. This will also make me stand out more when companies first start excepting them, since no one else will have one.
I see this as a great advantage for me in my career, because instead of just showing employers what I can do on a resume I can show them what I have done and they can see it for themselves.
A portfolio can have a compilation of all of your work rolled into a nice compact disc for anyone to see. Its good to put it in the form of a website then yo can place the website on a bussiness card to give to different people who could benifit from your work.
Like you said before the portfolio gets you passed ahead of the "normal" and into the next field so that your ahead of the game or at least in the same playing field.
A digital portolio is something that a lot people dont even know about. So if i was to show mine to a employer plus my resume, it shows the employer the extra step i went to sale myself.
A digital portfolio can be awesome to have. Especially if you are trying to get into the computer world. Whether it be gaming or web design, you want to show thee employer, and the world that you know what you are doing. So being able to make a website for your resume and the like is perfect to show that you have some smarts and some technical knowledge.

The more work you do in your classes the more work you can add into your portfoilios.
